Postcard from 1966

My light,

I shared your picture with the boys in the bunker and they are mesmerized. Thank you for walking into my life. Your thoughts intoxicate my days. Strangely, I am smitten by your silent ways. I wait for the day when I am beside your tender heart. Until then, do write back and time will not keep us apart.

p.s – You will soon receive a colorful paper mache’ frame. By the way, do you like my very own version of your name –

Jyots, I love you

I will see you soon,

yours

Poem on a postcard

I am a management professional by job classification and a work practitioner by personal preference. One poetry collection - Shelling Peanuts and Stringing Words and a chapbook, Crushed Anthills. Always gathering poems, and letting them marinate and change shape and form.

  1. You are an artist par excellence -can beautifully put down the tender / raw emotions once expressed
jyot -my light- name given to rechristian Joginder jagga( jockingly called by her friends) daughter

But -ha ha ha Jyoti the LIGHT, gradually became a flame ( my flame) and then a fire who warmth my existence Pray she continues to give warmth and( and) does not start Burning

The frame was used to put a picture of john kennedy and I became jealous of the President .
( all above in a light mood -with hope of no burns from Jyot -whom I am still in love!!

    Papa
